1,000 years of data storage on a DVD compatible disc

CDs and DVDs have a useful life of about 10 years.   They are susceptible to failure just like previous tape media.    This new technology says the data will be preserved for up to 1,000 years.  You can read about it here:  https://tiny.cc/tty5t
