The September NYS Intelligence Center Cyber Analysis Unit spotlight summary had some disturbing ransomware news that validated some things I have been saying for quite some time: "Automation is the most adopted and effective factor: 80% of the RaaS groups analyzed have some automation and AI in their platforms. The speed of attacks has dramatically increased - average breakout time is now 18 minutes - and defenders have significantly less time to react."
Not marketing fluff, but rather the State's cybersecurity experts.
Machine-speed attacks require machine-speed responses.
We no longer have the luxury of checking out the console once we get back to our desk, or swapping phone calls with a vendor or SOC. Failure to act immediately may be the difference between a compromised network and a nuisance event.
You can no longer just do what we've always done. Every network needs to add a security layer to its security stack that starts leveraging AI to defend against known bad events and to immediately act.
This is a new layer. Unfortunately, it builds on top of your existing layers and does not replace any of them. That means that there are additional costs and planning involved.
This starts with eyes on glass and eyes on the firewall and adds that action piece to traditional defenses.
There is a lot to talk about and plan for to keep you safe in 2026. Leveraging AI to defend your network at machine speeds has to be at the top of your list.
Acture has a number of fine solutions to address this growing threat.
Please reach out to us so we can start the planning process and continue to keep you safe against today's evolving threats.
