This is the 46th year that Bob and I have been working together in technology! It is the 45th year we have been working in K-12. Acture Solutions has been around for at least 40 of those years as well! The Acture/CSI family has been around the block.
We really were around at the beginning of the beginning. Today, we remain on the leading edge of security and all things networking and beyond.
Erik Nelson, out of the Acture Albany office, introduced me a few months back as "the grandfather of cybersecurity!" My brain says I am still seventeen. My hips say otherwise. (My daughter insists I was around with the dinosaurs.)
One of the things I am most proud of is the longevity of our staff. If you talk to people in our industry, the fact that Bob and I stayed together that long is literally unheard of. The fact that you may very well be talking to the same engineer you spoke with 30 years ago is equally unheard of.
It is a testament to what we have built. It has been over a year now since we handed the reins to Gabe, who has opened the next chapter of Acture/CSI. What I have seen in this last year is a recommitment to what has made us great, along with a wonderful new vision and energy to meet the needs of an ever-changing industry.
It makes me proud to still be part of the Acture/CSI family.
For any of you who think I am retiring, I have a 10-year-old, and my wife has specifically forbidden me to retire until one year after my two college-age daughters graduate.
Plus, it is still fun teaching, writing, and training the next generation of outstanding Acture engineers in what I know.
It is our privilege to work with you every day.
From disco balls to digital dominance, it’s been quite the ride.
