We have recently been approached by many school districts to talk to their district office staff and in some instances their faculty about phishing and security as it relates to money and personally identifiable information (PII). These have been in the form of either special in-service training for district office/business office staff or as part of a Superintendent's Conference Day training.
The reality today is your business office is under attack attempting to steal money from the district. At the same time, cybercriminals are trying to steal personally identifiable information. It is important that all those dealing with money and personal information realize that they are being personally targeted (for real) by cyber criminals.
