Server Systems Engineer

The Role
The Server Systems Engineer will install, maintain and support the components of our K-12 customers’ enterprise-class networks, through both onsite and remote work. This includes, but is not limited to, support of Windows Servers and workstations, Active Directory, and Active Directory Group Policy. The Server Systems Engineer will be expected to work both individually and as part of a collaborative team to ensure responsive, efficient, and effective technical consulting services for the networks supported by CSI. The Server Systems Engineer will be expected to shift between multiple tasks, and prioritize multiple demands while maintaining a high standard of quality work.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Handle basic and advanced troubleshooting, new requests, and maintenance for Windows Servers, Active Directory, Active Directory Group Policy,
- Work on projects to install and/or configure Windows Servers, Active Directory, and Active Directory Group Policy
- Maintain documentation relevant to customer networks
- Work with vendors and service providers to ensure effective operations of customer networks and project implementations
- Be open and flexible towards learning to support other technologies used by our customers
- Provide limited after hours support as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in computer science or related discipline (preferred) or commensurate experience
- Knowledge and experience in IT performing implementation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, Active Directory, and Active Directory Group Policy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to deal with conflicting demands to prioritize, address, and resolve recurring and onetime issues all while communicating consistently and effectively
- Must be responsible, conscientious, flexible and able to work independently with limited oversight
Preferred:
- Three to Five years experience in IT performing implementation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows based OS and software
- Microsoft MCSA/MCSE
- VMWare VCA/VCP
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud applications, VMWare, and SAN Storage platforms

This includes, but is not limited to, support of firewalls, switches, wireless networks and related technologies. The Network Systems Engineer will be expected to work both individually and as part of a collaborative team to ensure responsive, efficient, and effective technical consulting services for the networks supported by CSI. The Network Systems Engineer will be expected to shift between multiple tasks, and prioritize multiple demands while maintaining a high standard of quality work.

- Work on projects to install and configure Cisco and Meraki switches, firewalls, and wireless network components
- Create and maintain network diagrams for customer networks
- Work with vendors and service providers to ensure effective operations of customer networks and project implementations
- Be open and flexible towards learning to support other technologies used by our customers
- Provide limited after hours support as needed
Requirements:
